2023 Series – Introduction

Welcome to the Fall 2023 Teaching Series!

Similar to other series published on the site, this will be a time of regular posts, targeting every Friday. Unlike prior series, this is going to be a freeform of content led by Holy Spirit direction. There’s an old saying, “The more you learn, the less you know.” For anyone seeking God, Christ and Holy Spirit, we have all felt this expression in real ways!

When learning and understanding more of God, His great design of creation, and His greater plan for our lives, we cannot help but be overwhelmed and yet wanting more! As we commit more deeply to God’s plans, we simultaneously give up the control we believe we need over our time and resources. That fear of limited time and resources has held this writer back from committing to another series these preceding months. The discomfort of an unclear view of the tasks to be completed, an estimate of time required and a map of the greater plan prevented movement forward. Wanting to ensure God’s prioritization was followed was most critical and an unclear path felt too much at risk of straying from His message. Like so many other scenarios and situations, this follower was left frozen, doing nothing. THAT FEAR ENDS TODAY!

Today, we are going to step out in faith together and work our way through some of God’s Teachings.

“For the Gord gives wisdom; From His mouth com knowledge and understanding.”Proverbs 2:6 NKJV

All wisdom and enlightenment come from God and we can experience it in many ways.

  1. Reading His Word
  2. Prayer
  3. Fasting and Other Personal Sacrifice (financial or physical) to empty ourselves of desires of the flesh and be filled more greatly with desires of the Spirit
  4. Following ministries that edify our hearts and thoughts, as they align with God and His scripture
  5. Studying works of apostles and prophets experiencing elements of God’s Kingdom and His Word in ways lesser understood or not often discussed in weekly services

We freely receive Christ’s Salvation, but once we have it, we need to grow in that relationship. We are filled with the Holy Spirit and need to follow His guidance. During this past summer, one of the prophets previously included on the site was sharing what through Holy Spirit discernment felt like false doctrine. Scripture tells us:

“Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.”Matthew 18:15-17 NKJV

This prophet is being confronted by peers in the faith and the information has been removed from the Acts of the Way site. We must each learn to listen to Holy Spirit leading and act accordingly. So, now that has been done for the site, nothing more needs to be addressed at this time.

Back to the series. Acts of the Way is moving forward in faith, trusting God for weekly content to carry us through the fall!

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”James 2:26 NKJV

Let us all join together in faith to God’s message through His Word, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit power! May this series edify and encourage readers to grow deeper in their faith and better love the neighbors God has blessed us with!

May God be glorified by our faith and actions!

Amen.
