Wisdom

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk blamelessly, . . .” (Proverbs 2:6-7)

We, as a nation, are experiencing one of the most contentious Presidential Elections in history. My hope is that Christians, who seek to follow God and His path will prayerfully consider who they are asking God to put in place to lead this nation.

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God.” (Romans 13:11)

This election is not about rhetoric, frustration, missteps, it is about the direction of this country and if it will collectively turn back to Almighty God.

Similar to the story in the book of Acts, when two of the disciples parted ways and decided to go different directions, only one resulted in their story being told of winning others to Christ. We as Christians need to stop judgmentally looking for perfection. We need to seek God’s wisdom and open our ears to listen to who is glorifying and thanking God in their speeches and who has been establishing policies that protect freedom of speech and freedom of religion. We need to seek God in our requests and understand there are times in history when the sheep are and will be separated from the goats.

God has told us himself, in the Bible, there will be no peace until the return of Jesus Christ. We need to continue praying, reading, seeking, acting, listening and discerning the voice of God and His plans for our lives, actions and all interactions large and small!

Take Action

Spend time in prayer today, seeking God’s wisdom of the current situation in our country. Pray He will install a leader who will best enable us, as followers of Christ, to reach others who have yet to know His great love and glory!
