“. . .you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. . .” (Acts 1:5)
When we choose to follow Christ and give God control over our lives, we are filled with the Holy Spirit.
“That still small voice”, “Our 6th sense”, there are many ways used to describe the feeling of the power of the Holy Spirit in us. Regardless of the narrative, they all reflect an internal sense of knowing that God is within us, guiding us, protecting us and as the Bible says, “praying on our behalf”.
God knew the sin, pain and suffering of this world. He wanted us to have strength, His strength and understanding made continuously available to us.
God does provide some guidelines for what it means to follow Him. It is a relationship, not a religion. He hasn’t created a set of horrendous rules, that leave us board and disappointed. He knows the gentleness of our hearts and spirit, as we were created in His image. He wants us to be protected from misguided desires of this world that will only bring us pain and suffering.
“Holy Spirit petitions on our behalf” (?)
Not only has God established guidelines, He has sent His almighty power through the Holy Spirit, which dwells within us once we make a commitment to God, to be ever present with us, protecting us, guiding us and petitioning for us. We are able to join with God’s almighty power and the Holy Spirit in prayer.
Take Action
Read the scriptures for yourself. Continue with the book of Acts. Jesus knew his time here on earth was limited, but He knew God the Father would send the Holy Spirit to live within us and provide a continuous connection to God. Think about the direction provided to the disciples in the book of Acts, the healing of God and the reference of following Christ being called, “the Way”. This path is available to ALL.
